Mothers for All is actively partnering with other non-profit organisations working with orphans and vulnerable children and their caregivers around Botswana. This helps to enhance the impact of our interventions and avoids duplication of services. We are partnering with Bana Ba Letsatsi and Window of Hope and working with several Peace Corps volunteers.
Bana Ba Letsatsi (Sunshine Children) is based in Maun, Botswana and provides care and support to over 230 vulnerable and orphaned children aged from 2 to 18 years old, as well as around 30 youth aged 19-25 years. This registered non-profit organisation runs several initiatives including pre-school, non-formal school, school holiday and youth development programmes. Like Mothers for All, Bana Ba Letsatsi believes that in order to bring lasting change to a child's life it is essential to support their caregivers. Several income-generating skills such as sewing, weaving and food-gardening have therefore been taught to the caregivers. Mothers for All is now working with some of these caregivers, teaching them how to make the paper bead products, as well as running other skills development programmes. For more information visit the Bana Ba Letsatsi website Window of Hope is a registered non-profit organisation based in Ghanzi, Botswana. Since starting in 2005 Window of Hope has provided psychosocial support to orphans and vulnerable children and their caregivers through after-school programmes, life skills training and caregiver support groups. The most recent projects include income-generating projects for caregivers and out-of-school youth and the formation of Kids' Clubs in each ward of Ghanzi. Window of Hope is delighted to be partnering with Mothers for All, which is teaching the caregivers how to make the paper bead jewellery. The volunteers include the following: Peter Martinez in Nata; Stacy Wallick and Richard Rain in Gumare; Andrea Leuser and Kathrine Kourtnage in Ghanzi; Stacey Donovan in Sefhare; Natalie Wilson in Bobonong; Jacklyn Bandel in Semolale; and Nicole Nakama in Mahalapye.
